After seeing his work presented at the Choreographers' Festival, Artistic Director Bruce Marks invited Mark Morris to create a work for Boston Ballet. The resulting piece, the first Mark Morris collaboration with the company, was Mort Subite. The piece premiered on February 5, 1986 and was presented again on July 11 at the Pepsico Summerfare Festival in Purchase, NY.
