You can blur the background to emphasize the subject or specific areas.
NoteAreas may not be specified as expected depending on how you surround them.
This filter is suitable for photos in which the subject is clearly distinguished from the background.
Select photos in the Select Images screen, then click
(Special Image Filters).
The Special Image Filters window appears.
NoteYou can also display the Special Image Filters window by clicking
(Special Image Filters) in the Layout/Print or Edit screen. In that case, only the image displayed in Preview can be enhanced.

Select the image you want to enhance from the thumbnail list in the Special Image Filters window.
The image appears in Preview.
NoteIf only one image is selected, the thumbnail list does not appear below Preview.
Click Blur Background.
NoteThe effect level can be changed using the slider below Blur Background.
Move the cursor over the image. The shape of the cursor changes to
(Pen).
Surround the focus area (area that will not be blurred) with a line by clicking along its outline.
NoteYou can select whether to detect the outline automatically, by clicking
(Detect the outline and select the area) on the Toolbar.
When the "Detect the outline and select the area" mode is selected, the outline near the cursor is automatically detected, enabling you to specify the area along the outline.
Specify the area while pressing the Shift key to temporarily cancel the "Detect the outline and select the area" mode.
When the "Detect the outline and select the area" mode is canceled, a clicked point and the next clicked point will be connected with a straight line.
Press the Delete key to undo the specified points one at a time.
When you finish surrounding the image, double-click the last point.
The first and last points are connected and the focus area is specified.
NoteYou can specify up to thirty areas.
Click
(Cancel the selected area) to delete the specified area.
To edit the specified area, perform the operations below.
Moving a point: Drag the point to the target position
Adding a point: Place the cursor over the line of the selected area; when the cursor changes to
(Add a point), drag it to the target position
Deleting a point: Drag the point to a point next to it, where the cursor changes to
(Delete a point)
Alternatively, after surrounding the image, click the first point to specify the area.
When an area is created within a created area, the inner area will be blurred.
Click OK.
The background outside the specified area(s) is blurred, and the
(Enhancement) mark appears on the upper left of the image.
NoteClick
(Compare) to display the images before and after enhancement side by side so that you can compare and check the result.
Click Cancel to undo the preceding enhancement operation.
Click Save Selected Image or Save All Filtered Images.
You can save enhanced images as new files.
NoteTo save only the image you like, click Save Selected Image. To save all images, click Save All Filtered Images.
Only JPEG/Exif data format is available for enhanced images.
Click Exit.
ImportantEnhancements will be lost if you exit before saving enhanced images.
NoteWhen the Special Image Filters window is displayed via Solution Menu EX, Proceed to Print appears instead of Exit. When you click it, the Special Image Filters window closes and the Select Images screen of Photo Print of Easy-PhotoPrint EX appears.
