Joined Boston Ballet in 2004
Dalay Parrondo began her training at age nine at the Cuban National Ballet School. The recipient of numerous medals in competitions, Parrondo joined the corps de ballet of the National Ballet of Cuba in 1998. Two years later she was promoted to soloist and in 2001 she became first soloist. Her repertoire with the National Ballet included Swan Lake, Giselle and George Balanchine’s Ballo della Regina.
Since joining Boston Ballet in 2004, Parrondo has appeared in August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker; James Kudelka’s Cinderella (Moss), Jorma Elo’s Carmen, Asaf Messerer’s Spring Waters, William Forsythe’s In the middle, somewhat elevated, Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena, Balanchine’s Serenade, Marius Petipa’s Raymonda Act III, and Jiří Kyllian’s Falling Angels.
