Joined Boston Ballet II in 2012
Dawn Atkins of Chesterfield, Virginia, began her early training at Richmond Ballet. She attended high school at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the artistic direction of Ethan Stiefel. Atkins moved to Boston to join the trainee program at Boston Ballet School, where she studied for one year under the Pao Scholarship. In 2012, Atkins was invited to become a member of Boston Ballet II, where she remained for one season before joining Boston Ballet as a Company Dancer in 2013.
In 2012, Atkins attended the Professional Dance Festival in Banff, Canada as a scholarship recipient. Atkins was Boston Ballet's 2013 Princess Grace Award nominee.
Atkins' Boston Ballet repertoire includes Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine's Symphony in C, Symphony in Three Movements, Serenade, and Coppélia.
