Joined Boston Ballet II in 2012
Kathryn McDonald started her ballet training at age seven with Kathy Chamberlain. After attending three summer courses at the School of American Ballet on full merit scholarship, she was invited to stay for the winter course on scholarship in the fall of 2009. At age 17, McDonald attended Boston Ballet’s summer program on full scholarship.
While at the School of American Ballet, McDonald performed lecture demonstrations including Allegro Brillante, the Sugar Plum Fairy Variation from Balanchine’s Nutcracker, the Bluebird Variation from Balanchine’s Sleeping Beauty, and 2 and 3 Part Inventions by Jerome Robbins. McDonald has also performed in the School of American Ballet’s annual workshop performing Christopher Wheeldon’s Scenes de Ballets, George Balanchine’s Bourree Fantasque, Who Cares?, and Cortege Hongrois, and Peter Martin’s Les Petits Riens.
