Joined Boston Ballet in 2010
Lasha Khozashvili, of Tbilisi, Georgia, joined Boston Ballet as a principal dancer in 2010. He trained at the V. Chabukiani Tbilisi State Choreographic School from 1994-2002. He then enrolled in the Ballet Company of the Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre, where he was a leading soloist.
Previous to Boston Ballet, Khozashvili danced with the State Ballet of Georgia, where he was called by Ballet Dance Magazine "the most sophisticated male in the company." Khozashvili's dancing has been described the Los Angeles Times as "gorgeous" with "youth, charm and spontaneity gilding the choreography and making it seem inspired improvisation." He was awarded the Gilbert Albert and Nina Ananiashvili International Prize "Star" in 2008.
Khozashvili took part in the State Ballet of Georgia Tour of US in 2007 and 2008, and the Tour of Japan 2007. He also performed in Spoletto and Jacob's Pillow festivals where he danced the leading roles in Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and George Balanchine's Mozartiana and Duo Concertant.
His repertory includes Swan Lake (Pas de trois, von Rothbart, the Prince) , Don Quixote (Espada, Basilio), Giselle (Albrecht), The Nutcracker (French Doll and Prince), La fille mal gardee (Colas), Romeo and Juliet (paquita grand pas, Romeo, Mercutio), The Two Pigeons (The Young Painter), Laurencia (Mengo, Frondoso), Serenade, Apollo Musagete, Western Symphony, Mozartiana, Duo Concertant, Chaconne, The Flower Festival in Genzano, Second Before the Ground, Midsummer Night's Dream, Green, Dreams About Japan, Leah, Bizet Variations, Sagalobeli, 1001 Nights (Shahriar), Mevlana'dan Çağrı (Shems), La Bayadere (Solor), Bella Figura, Layli o Majnun, and Elo Experience.
