        Marcus Romeo

        Joined Boston Ballet II in 2012

        Marcus Romeo began his training at age six at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary, training extensively with Laszlo Berdo and Leslie Hench. He completed his last three years of pre-professional training at The School of American Ballet. Romeo attended summer intensives at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, The School of American Ballet, and Boston Ballet School all on full merit scholarships. He also attended the Pennsylvania Ballet's Beyond Technique intensive. Romeo is a 2012 graduate of the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City, achieving a 4.0 GPA.

        He was awarded the Columbus Citizen Foundation Scholarship, the Linda and Arthur Collins Scholarship, and the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation Scholarship at the School of American Ballet.

        Romeo danced the roles of Spanish, Russian and Bear in Boston Ballet's production of Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker. He also performed numerous roles in Boston Ballet's productions of The Sleeping Beauty and Coppélia, in addition to performing the grand pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty in Boston Ballet School's Next Generation performance. Romeo performed George Balanchine's Tchaikovsky pas de deux and van Dantzig's Four Last Songs for the 2013 Dance Masters series in Banff, Alberta Canada. He appeared as a guest artist in the Eglevsky Ballet's 2011 production of The Nutcracker,  performing the role of the Nutcracker Prince, choreographed by Laszlo Berdo. He performed Peter Martins' Les Petits Riens and Les Gentil hommes, as well as George Balanchine's Cortège Hongrois  and Bourrée Fantasque for The School of American Ballet's annual workshop performances.

        Romeo performed Embraceable You from George Balanchine's Who Cares?  as part of the 2011 New York City Ballet Lecture Demonstrations. He was also selected to participate in several sessions of the New York Choreographic Institute, performing original choreography by Yuri Smekalov, Justin Peck, and Massimiliano Volpini.
