Joined Boston Ballet II in 2009
Patrick Yocum began his dance training in his hometown of Souderton, PA. After graduating high school, he trained for a year in the Graduate Program of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. From there he joined the trainee program of Boston Ballet School as its Sydney Leonard Scholar.
Yocum was invited to join Boston Ballet II in 2009. While in BBII, he performed many works by Jorma Elo, including Plan to B, Pointe Off and Carmen/Illusions. He also danced works by August Bournonville, including Napoli Pas de Six and Konservatoriet.
Yocum joined the Corps de Ballet in 2011, and has danced in the company’s productions of La Bayadere, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, James Kudelka’s Cinderella, and George Balanchine’s Coppelia. He was also seen in The Elo Experience, Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote and John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet (Carnival King). His proudest achievement to date is the role of Tony and Stephen in William Forsythe’s The Second Detail.
