Joined Boston Ballet in 2013
Petra Conti graduated from the National Academy of Dance in Rome in 2006 in the class of M° Zarko Prebil. In 2007, she joined the Mariinsky Ballet in St. Petersburg, preparing roles with Elvira Tarasova.
She performed as a guest artist in Arena di Verona's Cinderella (2007) and Giselle (2008), and in Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory's Swan Lake (2007). In 2008 she joined the Bavarian State Ballet Company.
One year later, Conti joined La Scala Ballet Company in 2009. She was promoted to principal dancer in 2011. Conti represented La Scala on tour in Italy, Brazil, Russia, Oman and Poland.
She is a recipient of numerous awards including the famous PremioDanza & Danza 2011 as The Best Interpreter of the Year, Premio delle Arti 2004, Premio Positano 2007, Premio La Ginestra d'Oro 2007, Premio Roma in Danza 2012 , Premio Danza Arenzano 2013, Premio Ciociaria nel mondo 2013. Considered the "Anna Magnani of the ballet" by Panorama.
She has also danced in numerous international galas, including Women on Music (Los Angeles 2005), Vladimir Vassiliev Gala Italia-Russia (Rome, 2011), The 150th anniversary of Unità d'Italia (Roma, 2011), Gala des Etoiles (Goiania, Brazil, 2012) Spring & Winter Gala (Ekaterinburg, Russia, 2013, 2012)), Les Hivernales de la Danse (Liège, Belgium, 2013).
In 2004, she danced with Roberto Bolle on the national television channel RAI 1 in the Raffaella Carra's program Sogni.In 2010, TV channel SKY Classica devoted an entire documentary to Conti titled, "Danzatori di Domani" about her interpretation in Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, and Don Quixote. Conti has been the partner of Roberto Bolle for the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience (Dubai, Emirates 2013) and of Massimo Murru and Ivan Vassiliev for Roland Petit's Notre-Dame de Paris.
Her repertoire includes Yvette Chauvirè's Giselle (Giselle); Rudolf Nureyev's Swan Lake (Odette/Odile) and Don Quixote (Kitri); Kenneth Macmillan's Romeo and Juliet (Juliet); John Cranko's Onegin (Tatiana); George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania) and Emeralds (Jewels); Marius Petipa's Raymonda (Raymonda, Clemence); Dell'Ara's Excelsior (Civilization, Folgore); Martha Clarke's L'Altra MetàDel Cielo (Albachiara); Frederick Ashton's Marguerite and Armand (Marguerite); Alexei Ratmansky's Concerto DSCH (Principal Couple); Roland Petit's Notre-Dame de Paris (Esmeralda); Maria Grazia Garofoli's Cinderella (Cinderella) and Giselle (Giselle); Sasha Waltz's Romèo et Juliette (Juliette).
Conti joined Boston Ballet as a principal dancer in November 2013, and is married to Boston Ballet principal dancer Eris Nezha.
