Giving by bequest costs nothing now, yet it may give you a great deal of satisfaction to know that your future gift will live on. An outright gift from your estate is entirely free from federal estate taxes. This means that Boston Ballet is able to use the full amount of the bequest. You may make a bequest and retain the ability to change it at any time.
Benefits of making a Bequest to Boston Ballet
• Your assets remain in your control during your lifetime.
• You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.
• You can direct your bequest to a particular purpose (be sure to check with Boston Ballet to make sure your gift can be used as intended).
• There is no upper limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.
• You know that your gift will benefit Boston Ballet tomorrow just as you intend it to today.
