Pixley Lewis Schiciano was trained initially with Pittsburgh Ballet School, continued at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, and Pennsylvania Ballet School.
She spent many years dancing in musical theatre in New York and in touring companies. Schiciano performed under the direction of Agnes de Mille and Lee Theodore with The American Dance Machine, and worked with Onna White in The Wizard of Oz, where she played the role of Dorothy at Radio City Music Hall and on tour. Later, she toured Europe with a production of Gower Champion’s 42nd Street.
Locally, Schiciano has choreographed and directed Snow White for Wellesley Summer Theatre for Children, restaged some of Bob Fosse’s choreography for the Wellesley College dancers, and has worked on several arts and education boards and committees. She has served annually as Children’s Ballet Mistress for Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
