Beginning at age five, all classes at Boston Ballet School feature live accompaniment. We are pleased to have some of the most talented and experienced ballet accompanists working with our faculty in the studios.

Maya Isyanova, Music Department Head Born in Leningrad, Maya Isyanova received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Leningrad Conservatory. She was also a full scholarship recipient at Boston University’s Doctor of Musical Arts program.
Isyanova has played numerous recitals including appearances at Jordan Hall, Wang Center, and Tsai Performance Center,and also served as a Music Director of “Operafest” Company of New Hampshire. As a pianist for Choral and Vocal departments of New England Conservatory, she participated in many world premieres and worked with celebrated composers ToruTakemitsu and Osvaldo Golijov.
Maya is in charge of hiring, training,and managing pianists at Boston Ballet School. In addition, she arranges piano scores for ballet classes and performances. She has also created an internship program for New England Conservatory piano students interested in learning the art of ballet accompanying.

Emily Adams, Pianist Emily Adams received her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ, where she studied voice as well as piano performance. Upon graduation, Emily performed as a collaborative pianist and an operatic mezzo-soprano throughout the Princeton, NJ region, and also began her ballet accompanying career with Princeton Ballet School under Douglas Martin.
In 2013, she moved to the Boston area and joined Boston Ballet School as a full-time accompanist and administrator. In addition to her playing and singing careers, Emily is passionate about composition. Her works have been performed throughout New Jersey and New York City. A recent project included a collaboration with choreographer Susan Tenney to provide music for an original theater/dance production, Something Sudden 5wept 0v3r Me, which premiered in NYC as a part of the 2013 Planet Connections Festival and was nominated for several awards. |

Olga Bezvitny, Pianist Olga Bezvitny holds her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in piano performance and music pedagogy from Saratov Conservatory, Russia. She began her career as an accompanist at the Samara State Academy of Music, Russia. She joined Boston Ballet and Dean College in 2004 as a part time pianist, and was promoted to a full-time position with Boston Ballet School in 2007. Bezvitny accompanied numerous BBS rehearsals and showcases, and participated in many educational and promotional events. In addition to being a pianist for BBS, Bezvitny regularly plays solo recitals and performances. |

Yoko Igarashi, North Shore Lead Pianist Born in Osaka, Japan, Yoko Igarashi completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University in Collaborative Piano, where she received a full scholarship. Prior to her study at Boston University, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance at The Frederic Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland, Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying at San Francisco Conservatory, and Graduate Diploma in Collaborative Piano at New England Conservatory.
During her studies at NEC and BU, she worked as a ballet pianist at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre where she worked closely with Jose Mateo and Mary Thompson. In 2012, upon graduating from BU,she joined Boston Ballet School.

Almas Serkebayev, Pianist Almas Serkebayev is a composer and an Honored Artist of Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a Laureate of State Prize of Republic of Kazakhstan. As a pianist, Serkebayev started playing for ballet accompaniment at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and joined Boston Ballet School in 2001 as a full-time accompanist. He is an expert in playing for character classes and has composed multiple pieces for Ms. Nikitina’s character presentations. He has also created piano scores for School rehearsals and performances using Sibelius and Finale software.
